KU baseball stuns No. 1 LSU, 11-9

? Senior Robby Price and junior Casey Lytle each had three hits and two doubles, Brett Bochy pitched 21/3 innings of hitless relief, and the Kansas University baseball team knocked off No. 1 LSU, 11-9, on Friday night at Alex Box Stadium in front of 11,157 fans.

The Jayhawks improved to 10-3 overall, while LSU fell to 12-1.

KU won for the fourth straight time over LSU dating back to 2003. It was the Jayhawks’ fourth consecutive victory over a No. 1-ranked team.

Kansas broke it open in the second inning, sending 11 men to the plate and scoring six runs. Junior Jimmy Waters, senior Brett Lisher and sophomore James Stanfield started the inning with three consecutive hits to tie the score at 1.

The Jayhawks will look to take the three-game series at 2 p.m. today.
