A Foxsports.com report that Kansas University basketball assistant Joe Dooley has been offered the head coaching job at East Carolina apparently is incorrect.
"Nothing has been offered. Nothing is imminent at all. (They are) still gauging interest," KU coach Bill Self said Monday after speaking with Dooley before practice.
Dooley has already served a tenure as East Carolina coach. He was 57-52 in four seasons at East Carolina. He was fired by the prior administration.
Self has a policy of not letting his assistants discuss other jobs. Self does not have a policy prohibiting assistant coaches from accepting jobs before the end of a current season.

When your #1 most of the season, your assistants are hot properties. I'd go for a better job.

I know Joe personally and I can vouch that his hair is VERY clean - it is just 'arranged' with hair products!

So would I. In Joe's case, he should wait for a better job.

Uh, I know Self is pretty cool, but I am pretty sure Self has yet to receive the power to enslave anyone. Any coach or employee can leave his or her employer or accept any job they want at any time in this country.
