Kansas University police early Thursday morning took a report that someone was in possession of a shotgun on state property in McCollum Hall, 1800 Engel Road.

Police met the caller outside the building, where they took possession of the gun. The caller also reported that the person who owned the gun had threatened another person for telling others that there was a shotgun in the building.

No arrest was made, and charges were forwarded to the district attorney, KU police said.
