A Bonner Springs man involved in a motorcycle crash west of Lawrence Monday has been released from Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Gary E. Titsworth, 63, was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle east on U.S. Highway 40 when it went off the road and rolled over. A passenger, Ruth E. Titsworth, 62, Bonner Springs, also was taken to Stormont-Vail, but the spokeswoman said she could not release information about her condition.

The wreck happened about 8 miles west of Lawrence near the intersection with County Road 1029. Both riders were wearing helmets, according to the highway patrol.

Why is this newsworthy? Dozens of people are released from area hospitals every day.

Yes they are, but this was a rather bad wreck and it's follow up. What is newsworthy to you? And what if this was important for some other reason, just because it doesn't affect you directly it's not worthy of the news?

There is absolutely no negative tone in the above just FYI, nor sarcasm ... legit questions so don't go on the defensive please :S

People on these boards are always complaining about not enough follow-up stories. This is a follow-up story.

Glad to hear he is ok, hope his wife will be ok also. Motorcyclist like to hear news, especially good news, about their fellow cyclists.
