Woman arrested in connection with stabbing
Lawrence police arrested a woman Wednesday afternoon after a domestic dispute turned violent.
Officers were called to the 2000 block of Heatherwood Drive around 12:15 p.m. to investigate reports of a stabbing.
Police spokesman Sgt. Bill Cory said the male victim, who was stabbed in the left arm, was taken to the hospital with what he described as “non life-threatening” injuries.
Officers wearing latex gloves could be seen outside the Heatherwood Valley apartment complex interviewing several women, one of whom had blood on her shirt. At least two children were also present.
Police were still investigating the incident late Wednesday afternoon. Police said they did not know the relationship between the victim and the suspect, who was arrested on charges of aggravated battery.
