Blue Springs, Mo. ? The Lawrence Raiders went 1-1 on Saturday at the Rod’s Sports A’s Hidden Valley Classic.

The Raiders defeated Independence, Mo., Post 1000, 4-2. Jake Brown had a triple and Collin Phillips hit a double and a single. Joe Odrowski gave up seven hits in six innings to get the victory.

In the second game, the Raiders lost to the host team, Rod’s A’s Sports, 10-3. Austin Holladay and Ben Wyatt each had doubles.

The Raiders host the Topeka Stars for a doubleheader at 6 tonight at Ice Field. They also play doubleheaders at home at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
