Kansas Land Trust to sponsor 2 events
The Kansas Land Trust is sponsoring two upcoming events next week.
A wildflower walk is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Akin Prairie, 1864 N. 1150 Road. The walk is led by Kelly Kindscher, a senior scientist with the Kansas Biological Survey. It is free and open to the public, and sturdy shoes, pants, a hat and insect repellent are recommended.
Also, KLT will sponsor a workshop for anyone interested in becoming a volunteer easement steward for the land the organization conserves.
The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon June 26 at Free State High School. Participation is limited to KLT members and their guests, and advance registration is required. RSVP to carol@klt.org or 749-3297.
