Youth Football Camps: The Lawrence Youth Football Camp, put on by coaches and players from both Lawrence High and Free State, will be June 28-July 1 for players entering grades 3-8. It will run 8:30 a.m. to noon. Free State Youth Football Camp for linemen will be June 22-24, with the camp for quarterbacks, wide receivers and defensive backs July 6-8. Both sessions will run 9:30-11:30 a.m. Registration forms for the LHS and FSHS camps are at city elementary and junior high schools. LHS Boys Basketball Camp: Dates for the 2010 Lawrence High boys basketball summer camps have been set. Basketball camps for grades 3-5 and 6-8 will be held July 6-9. High school summer basketball workouts will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from June 7-July 14 and are open to boys entering grades 9-12. Free State Volleyball Camp: The Free State volleyball camp will run from June 28-July 2 for 9th- to 12th-grade students. Camp for eighth-graders and younger and below will run from July 19-July 23. Track Club Meetings: The Lawrence Youth Track Club meets 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at South Junior High. The club, for youths age 8-18, runs through July. Scholarships are available.

High School Baseball Camp: The Lawrence High and Free State baseball coaching staffs will be offering a summer camp the week of June 7-10, from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Free State High. Kansas University Soccer Camps: Weekicks soccer camp will be held June 6-11, 9-11:30 a.m. (grades K-5). Day Camp: June 6-11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (grades 5-8). Girls Residential & Girls Team Camp: Session I July 17-20: All Day (grades 4-12). Session II July 22-25; all day (grades 4-12). Youth Football Camp: A football camp for youths entering the second through sixth grades will be held July 22-24. No pads or helmets will be used, and there will be no contact during the camp, which will be held at Haskell Indian Nations University. Summer Basketball: A summer 3-on-3 basketball league is forming for youths, with sessions set for June 8-July 2 and July 8-31. Fee is $250 per team. Tholen Hole-In-One: Bill Tholen used a 7-iron to record a hole-in-one on the 143-yard 13th hole at Eagle Bend. Witnesses were Shane Starkey and John Douglas.

Wroten Hole-In-One: Milt Wroten used a 9-iron to fire a hole-in-one on the 102-yard 17th hole at Eagle Bend. Kelly Hughes witnessed the shot.
