Boy Scout Troop 60, chartered to First Baptist Church, had a campout July 16-18 at Bromelsick for rank advancement, merit badge work and planning. For rank advancement, the boys did a five-mile hike in the morning. The boys worked on the canoeing merit badge in the afternoon and then planned the next six months of camping during the evening. Scouts attending were Isaiah Nichols, Tyler Kendrick, Sam Kendrick, Austin Lemmons, Nick Maloun, Jack Junge, Camaron Edgecomb, Steven Ozaki, Darren Rawlings and Chris Geiss. Adults attending were David Ozaki, Dave Kendrick, Debora Rawlings, Richard Rawlings and Carol Stevenson.

Members of Boy Scout Troop 64 camped out July 9-11 near Ottawa and enjoyed fishing and working on canoeing merit badge requirements. Scouts attending were Dakota Coble, Steven Wimmer, Patrick Bradley, Nathan Gentleman, Simon Elwell, Nathan Bradley and senior patrol leader Connor Bradley. They were accompanied by Scouters Damon Bradley, Duane Gentleman and Rodney Coble. Troop 64, chartered to the Eudora Lions Club, meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at West School in Eudora.
