Mr. Wilson was an inspiration to my wife and I when we ran a 5K he was in. Our condolences to the family.

I raced against Dick Wilson a few years ago in a 5k in Lawrence. I kept looking back and he as right there. I kept thinking that this guy was too old to be right behind me. He was 70 and I was 33. I barely beat him but did I really??? He was very encouraging to me after the race and when I found out he used to run for KU back in the 50's I didn't feel so bad. The guy was a class act. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. -Steve Wathke
