Moore raises over $350,000 in first three months of Third District campaign

July 16, 2010

— Kansas congressman Dennis Moore's wife raised $352,000 in the first three months of her campaign to succeed him in the 3rd Congressional District.

Stephene Moore, of Lenexa, raised more money from April through June than any other Democratic or Republican candidate.

But the leading GOP candidate, state Rep. Kevin Yoder, of Overland Park, had a big head start in fundraising.

He reported raising $293,000 from April through June. But his total for the entire campaign is nearly $804,000.

Stephene Moore faces an opponent in her Aug. 3 primary, Thomas Scherer, of Prairie Village. but she is expected to win easily.

Yoder is one of nine GOP candidates.

Couldn't Steph just recycle her husband's old campaign signs? Change Dennis to Steph, your Congressman to your Congressman's wife, put an X through re in re-elect. That way the union money from back east can go farther.

Stephene Moore -- has not changed positions over the past decade to fuel her political ambitions; has her own children and grandchildren; fits with the moderate nature of the 3rd CD of Jan Meyers and Dennis Moore; is a health care professional, not a career politician.

And she raised $350,000 on her own in the 2nd quarter, more than Yoder, more than Jenkins, more than any congressional candidate in the state, save perhaps Raj Goyle.

And a good chance that she'll win. Must be tough for the good old boys to swallow. so what the hell, let's just demean her, since we don't have any good arguments to use against her.

She could raise $350 million and it will still not help her. Yep, not a family business. Yoder has his problems too. Neither will get my vote.

Where in the world were Brownback,Tihart,Moran and Lynn Jenkins? They don't catch fraudulent banking activity nor do they support public education.

This quartet proved to be a waste of our tax dollars!!!

Kevin Yoder will be no more effective than Lynn Jenkins. Why? Because all republicans must submit to the Bush family of politicians or else the Bush family of politicians power structure will replace them. Been goin on for about 30 years.

Jimo 7 years, 10 months ago far I don't see much to her but then again perhaps she'll show some substance.

Looking through the GOP candidates now, desperate to find one worth even holding the nose for. Ugh.

Screw Moore, Screw Barry O, Screw politics as usual. Not ever going to get my vote. Hope she goes down in flames and pays for the errors of her husband. Like it or not the two are yoked.

I liked Dennis in some ways but these political dynasties have to go. No way in hell would I vote for her. I’m sick of the Bush, Cheney, Clinton, Kennedy, families thinking they can just keep fooling us to make a buck. This isn’t your family owned business…it’s our lives. No wonder we end up with so many incompetents’. Stop raising money Steph. You are D.O.A in this race before you started. Enough is enough already. In this case Moore is Lesse.
