Tanya Mauler and Curt Meissner, Brooklyn, N.Y., announce the birth of their daughter, Ophelia June Meissner, June 4, 2010, at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y.

Her maternal grandparents are Al and Marcy Mauler, Lawrence; her paternal grandparents are Charlotte Meissner, Broomfield, Colo., and Norman and Yvonne Meissner, Punta Gorda, Fla. Her great-grandmother is Minnie Mauler, Great Bend.

Amanda Hadl, a student at Eudora High School, was awarded a Skill Point Certificate in screen printing technology at the SkillsUSA Championships held June 23-24 in Kansas City, Mo. The screen printing competition was held in H. Roe Bartle Hall. Awards were announced June 25. The Skill Point Certificate was awarded in 90 occupational and leadership areas to students who achieved a high score defined by industry.

Erin Chaput, Lawrence, completed her juris doctor degree during the 2010 spring semester at Drake University Law School in Des Moines.
