Lawrence Police have arrested four suspects and are looking for two more after an early morning robbery and burglary at a home in the 1400 block of Tennessee Street.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Matt Sarna, a victim reported that six unknown people broke into their home at 2:47 a.m. Monday morning. The suspects threatened the victim with a knife while they removed property from the home. No injuries were reported.

The victim was able to get a vehicle description and called police, who located the vehicle at 3:07 a.m. in the 1500 block of Highway 40 in north Lawrence, Sarna said.

Police arrested four suspects, including two Leavenworth men, an 18 and 19-year-old, an 18-year-old Lansing woman, and a 17-year-old Lansing resident. The two Leavenworth men and Lansing woman were booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, and the 17-year-old was taken into juvenile custody.

Sarna said police were unable to locate two other suspects, a white male and a black male. No further description was provided.

Wow. These are people who need to be locked up, and for a very long time.

If nothing else for sheer stupidity. At least park your car on the next block. Masks? Look for an unoccupied dwelling? They flunked robbery 101.

I wish these people would stay in their own cities and terrorize the people there! I guess there's nothing to steal in Leavenworth and Lansing so they come to Lawrence, home of the Gluttons?

11worthless....that town is a joke...the cops are are the lawyers and judges...the only thing that keeps that town floating is the fort.....

plenty of scum there. I lived there for awhile until somebody broke into my apartment I bought a shotgun after someone broke into my second floor apartment, the cops told me if i shot someone breaking into my place i would be charged for shooting them.....Say What!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that is when i decide to move here....been here 18 years. Well i hope they throw the book at them..and they go away for a very very longtime.....

did u know a very very longtime ago..when that area was first being settled they had a choice of the university of kansas being located there or a prison...they chose the prison they felt the university wasn't a good idea....but the prison was...LoL....stupid monkeys!

i hope they rot in jail.

Used to be you had to make sure at least 75% of the intruder's body was through the window, or door, and that his weapon was visable. Then you can shoot, bonk them on the head with an aluminum baseball bat or whatever floats your boat. I think now they have to be completely inside your residence with a visable weapon before you can defend yourself .

Still remember the "Trespassers Will Be Shot" signs people used to have on their fences out in the country; and they meant it! Ah, the good ol' days.

Back in the early '80's, my grandmother was living in KC, KS (had been there since the 30's). She was robbed in broad daylight. The cops there advised her to shoot first, drag the body inside, clean up anything outside, then call the police and say she shot the intruder in her home. Pretty sad.

Yeahh you're right they should be locked away for quiet a while, and what they did was horrible and disrespectful like no other. But don't downgrade a town because of what some imature peole decide to do, if you actually do pay attention they are some pretty successful people that come out of that town. So just cause theres people that robbed you from there doesn't mean that its a horrible place like you make it dude. There's people like that everywhere, open your eyes !

Doubt it. They serve the different purposes for the low life losers that try them.

I wonder if this article is related to the strong armed robbery that took place a couple of days ago.

This is the same police force and DA's office who continue to let the guilty go free. If you have money and are white you can get off.
