Elijah Penny scored 19 points, but the Veritas Christian boys basketball team fell to Midland Adventist, 45-37, on Saturday night.

The Eagles (7-7) shot 15-of-43 (34.9 percent) for the game and 5-of-20 (25 percent) from the three-point line.

“They played a real tough 1-3-1 zone defense that was hard to score against,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said.

Veritas will face Blue Ridge (Mo.) Christian on Tuesday.
