Peru, Neb. ? Maria Parker scored 21 points, Justina George added 18, and Haskell Indian Nations University defeated Peru State, 79-76, on Friday night in women’s college basketball.

“We really just kind of hung in there,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said. “Justina George and Maria Parker played like big-time players. We’re winning the close games. Peru played well. We switched to a zone, and the zone helped us.”

Parker hit nine of 10 free throws.

Haskell (16-4) will play at 3 p.m. today at York College.
