Family Promise of Lawrence was awarded $7,000 in grants from the Assists Foundation and the Ethel and Raymond F. Rice Foundation.

The grants will enable Family Promise to continue providing year-round transportation, food, shelter and other services to homeless families in Lawrence.

Family Promise’s mission is to help homeless families find and maintain a long-term residence.

Through the cooperation of 33 area congregations, Family Promise has graduated seven families from the program into permanent housing.
