The potential economic impact of attracting retirees to Douglas County will be the topic of a community meeting.

The meeting will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Community Health Facility, 200 Maine.

John Glassman, director of Douglas County Senior Services, will summarize results of a recent study conducted by researchers at Kansas University’s School of Social Welfare.

The discussion will include the benefits and risks of Douglas County actively promoting itself as a retirement destination. For more information on the meeting, presented by the Douglas County Coalition on Aging, call Gayle Sigurdson at 832-1692.

Don't forget all the retirees will need to be sure their sidewalks are shoveled, their taxes are paid and they enjoy driving over lots of pot holes.
