The University Bridge Club met for their delayed annual Christmas Party Jan. 14 at Alvamar Country Club. A total of 12 tables with 48 players gathered for the event, with hosts Rhetta Jo Noever and Jo Anne Kready. 

Blue winners were Mike Phenix, first; Alice Akin, second; Mary Kanous, third; Ray Ikenberry, fourth; Sadie Deaton, fifth; John Stark, sixth; and Marty Hartman and Dale Kring tied in seventh.

Pink winners were Carol Smith, first; Florence McNicoll, second; Susan Phenix, third; Wanda Kring, fourth; Myrna Ikenberry, fifth; Rhetta Jo Noever, sixth; and Cathy Waller, seventh.

UBC also announces results of it Jan. 16 meeting, with hosts Tom and Cathy Waller.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Jan. 18 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The Betty Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Jan. 16 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. Mary Lynn Stuart gave a program about heirloom gardening. The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor. After a brief meeting, members will carpool for the celebration of George Washington’s Birthday at Ritz Charles in Overland Park. All interested members should send money to Nancy Jaeger by Feb. 1.
