To the editor:

We were one of the unfortunate households to suffer a water pipe rupture during the recent frigid temperatures. However, we were very lucky to have neighbors who were relentless in finding us at work and getting into our house to stop the water. There was the neighbor who saw water pouring out of the garage and other neighbors who diligently tracked us down at work. We had neighbors who found a city worker nearby and had them turn the water off at the water main.

Our neighbors then worked to get into the house and turn the water off inside. Before we even arrived home they had started to push water out of our garage and started cleaning up the basement. They offered all kinds of help, support, advice and even cookies. We are blessed to have such wonderful people watching out for us! We can never thank you enough for everything you did to help us!
