Baldwin district principals retiring

After serving a combined 37 years as principals in the Baldwin school district, Connie Wright and Joe Gresnick are retiring.

Gresnick started as Baldwin High School principal in 1989. Wright took over as Baldwin Junior High School principal in 1994. In 2001, Gresnick joined Wright as assistant BJHS principal.

“It’s going to be hard to replace that,” Superintendent Paul Dorathy said.

Dorathy said the search for a new BJHS principal will begin soon. However, he isn’t sure Gresnick’s position will be filled.

Wright’s salary is $82,536, while Gresnick — who qualified for KPERS payments because he retired two years ago, but returned to the district — is making $40,000.
