City asks for help in reporting potholes

With snow and ice rapidly melting away from Lawrence streets, a new scourge awaits: potholes.

Employees in the city’s Street Division want your help informing them where such problem pavement is, so they can stop by to fill the holes in.

“We can’t drive every road every day,” said Bill Nye, field supervisor. “We rely on the public to help us out. If there’s damage and it’s causing problems, we want people to let us know.”

Two ways to report a pothole:

• Call the Pothole Reporting line, 832-3456.

• Fill out a report online.

The city already had filled in 412 potholes heading into Wednesday, when another 100 or so received batches of temporary “cold patch” pavement.
