OU hoops bests OSU in Bedlam
Norman, Okla. ? Willie Warren scored 15 points, freshman Tiny Gallon had 13 points and 18 boards and Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State, 62-57 in overtime, Monday night in the Bedlam game.
The Sooners (10-6, 1-1 Big 12) took advantage of the absence of Big 12 scoring leader James Anderson due to an injury to surge ahead in the second half, then closed out the victory in overtime after squandering a five-point lead in the final 20 seconds.
Tommy Mason-Griffin put Oklahoma ahead with a three-pointer with just under 3 minutes left in overtime, and Warren sealed the win by hitting two free throws with 10.7 seconds to play.
Anderson led Oklahoma State (13-3, 1-1) with 18 points but was ineffective after returning from a head injury in the second half. Marshall Moses added 16 points and 13 rebounds and freshman Ray Penn scored 14 points for the Cowboys.
