North-South winners were Catherine Blumenfeld and Grant Sutton, first in A and B; Janice Hollowell and Mary Fenlon, second in A; Chuck Hedges and Eldon Herd, tied for third in A, with Kent McCullough and John Fittell; Hedges and Herd also placed second in B; Lester Dalton and Adelaide Nyquist, third in B; Becky Mullins and Chris Lane, fourth in B; Earle Core and Albert Ballard, first in C; and Marilyn Martin and Clarice Broz, second in C.

The Monday Evening Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Feb. 15 utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Virginia Seaver. The Sunday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Feb. 21 was directed by Chris Lane. Winners were Rhonda Montgomery and Chris Lane, first; second place was a three-way tie between John Reese and Shirley Reese, Mike Montgomery and Ann Thompson, and Jean Khatib and Jan O’Connor.

Winners were Mary Fenlon and Julia Dalton, first in A; Peter Petillo and Brian Barett, second in A and first in B; Patrick Musick and Jolene Andersen, third in A, second in B, and first in C; Larry Weatherholt and Steven Vossler, fourth in A; and Jim Stewart and Vince Nordberg, fifth in A and second in C.

The Betty Washington Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Feb. 20 at Presbyterian Manor. After the DAR ritual and flag salute, guests were introduced. Shari Johnson announced Sonya Bonner is an official new member and Sammy Cope is a new associate member. Officer and committee reports were given, and members participated in a George Washington quiz. The St. Patrick’s Parade was discussed. Afterwards, some members attended the 24th Annual George Washington Birthday Celebration in Overland Park, by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
