Sudden rain of more than 1.30 inches hit the city and more was due. However, there seemed to be no flash flooding threats of an immediate nature despite the fact the ground was saturated from previous heavy winter snows.

A county jury found a 22-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, man guilty of the March 23 rape and kidnapping of a 22-year-old Kansas University student. The jury had spent three hours in deliberation. The defendant had fled to Texas and had to be extradited. Sentencing was set for later.
