The Kansas University track and field team received a commitment from pole-vaulter Demi Payne on Friday.

Payne was the Texas 5A state champion in the pole vault in 2009. During her junior year, she finished fourth overall at the Texas Relays. She is the daughter of Bill Payne, who is 13th on America’s all-time bests list for his vault of 19 feet, 23/4 inches in 1991.
