Lawrence man arrested after incident involving shotgun

No one injured in incident that started as a domestic disturbance

A 22-year-old Lawrence man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault early Wednesday after allegedly pointing a shotgun at his neighbor.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, the incident, which occurred in the 2100 block of Quail Creek Drive, started as a domestic dispute between the 22-year-old suspect and his 23-year-old girlfriend. The couple’s upstairs neighbor, a 22-year-old man, heard the fight, became worried and went downstairs to check on the situation. The female involved in the domestic disturbance allowed the neighbor inside the apartment, where the male pointed a shotgun at him.

No shots were fired and no one suffered serious injury. The 23-year-old woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the alleged domestic battery but was not transported to the hospital.

The suspect was arrested at 2:59 a.m. on charges of aggravated assault, domestic battery and criminal damage of property.
