Lawrence Memorial Hospital is offering a free program about stroke prevention.
“Strike Back At Strokes: What You Need to Know About Preventing and Treating Stroke” will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, in the auditorium at LMH, 325 Maine.
The presentation will feature Dr. Harold Adams, professor and director of the Division of Cerebrovascular Disorders at the University of Iowa Stroke Center.
Adams will discuss:
• What is a stroke.
• Risk factors for stroke.
• Common warning signs.
• Recovery process.
• Impact of lifestyle changes on preventing stroke.
• Why communities should have stroke education.
The program is free, but advance enrollment is requested by calling 749-5800.
