A 5-year-old boy is in good condition after being backed over by a piece of farming equipment last week in Franklin County.

Gage Flager is recovering at Children’s Mercy Hospital, where he was taken by air ambulance after the Friday afternoon accident. Emergency workers said the boy was outside when his father accidentally backed over him with a swather.

One of the machine’s tires reportedly ran over the boy’s midsection. The incident occurred about 3:45 p.m. Friday in the 3300 block of Georgia Road.
