No. 21 Haskell women fall victim to comeback

Haskell Indian Nation University’s women’s basketball team fell to College of Ozarks, 62-58, on Friday at Coffin Complex.

Mario Parker scored 17 points and Justina George 16 for No. 21-ranked Haskell, 18-6. Tara LaRue had 11 for No. 8-ranked Ozarks, 19-4.

“We played well. We had a good game. They’re just big. They outrebounded us, 46-31,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said.

Haskell will play host to Oklahoma Wesleyan at 3 p.m. today.

College of the Ozarks 73, Haskell men 59

Haskell’s men’s basketball team dropped its next-to-last home game of the season to College of the Ozarks on Friday at Coffin Complex. Vince Chavez led the Indians with 14 points.

Former Free State High standout Weston Wiebe scored four points for College of the Ozarks. His cousin, freshman Mike Wiebe, led the Bobcats with 27 points,.

Haskell fell to 4-9 and will complete its home season with Senior Night this evening. Tipoff against Oklahoma Wesleyan scheduled for 5 p.m.
