From the Lawrence Daily World for Feb. 13, 1910: If all signs do not fail, the coming of spring in Lawrence will witness an unprecedented boom in real estae of all kinds. One noted contractor says this may be the biggest building boom in our history. . . . In the roughest game of basketball seen on the local court this season, the Jayhawkers defeated the Tigers 29-15 last night. KU was laying for Missouri because of the Tiger victory in the Thanksgiving Day football game. Kansas clearly outclassed the Tigers but feelings ran high and roughness prevailed. . . . Congress is considering a military road that will run from Fort Leavenworth to Fort Riley in Kansas and pass by Lawrence. . . . Bell Telephone seems near agreeing to what the city is asking in the way of rates and services.
