— Two Republicans lead in fundraising in a crowded field in Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District race.

Finance reports show state Rep. Kevin Yoder of Overland Park raised about $233,000 during the last quarter of 2009. He finished the year with almost $228,000 in cash on hand.

Former state Sen. Nick Jordan of Shawnee reported raising $115,000 during the last quarter of the year and had $117,000 in cash at the end of 2009.

Jordan was the Republican nominee for the congressional seat in 2008, losing to incumbent Democratic Rep. Dennis Moore.

Moore is retiring at the end of his current term. Yoder and Jordan are among eight Republicans seeking to replace him.

The only Democrat running is Lake Quivira doctor Elizabeth Gallup, who filed near the end of December.

There goes the neighborhood. I did get a good laugh today. Moran's campaign group sent me a letter begging for donations. I have no idea where they got their mailing list from or what in the world would make them think I would give him a dime. The only thing I could figure is he must be working out of Sara Palin's play book as well.

Moran should be targeting democrats just to say "Would you rather let Tiahrt win".

Us democrats have to face facts that we are fielding very weak candidates in all races this year.

You, too, headdoc? I wonder who they got their mailing list from. I'm a registered Dem. I had honestly considered re-registering GOP to register a preference for Moran over Tiahrt. Then, he sends out this terror-baiting, fear-mongering, piece of crap fundraising letter I got today. I don't think I can do it, now. It was that bad.
