Veritas boys triumph

Elijah Penny scored 15 points to lead the Veritas Christian boys basketball team to a 33-15 victory over Flint Hills Christian on Saturday.

Veritas held Flint Hills to single-digit scoring in every quarter.

“Our defense was good, but the first half, neither team shot very well,” Veritas coach Gary Hammer said. “The second half, we were finishing around the basket more and we ran the offense much better.”

Ethan Kay pitched in 12 for Veritas, which improved to 9-8. The Eagles will travel to St. Marys on Tuesday.
