Haskell women win

Maria Parker scored 18 points and Haskell Indian Nations University defeated York (Neb.) College, 62-40, in women’s basketball action on Saturday.

“We pressured them, we ran people at them and they didn’t have the depth that we had,” Haskell coach Phil Homeratha said. “We kind of overwhelmed them.”

Haskell went ahead 18-2 to start the game, but only led 22-14 at halftime. The Fightin’ Indians went off for 40 points in the second half to seal the victory.

Haskell (18-5) will welcome No. 9 College of the Ozarks on Friday.
