4-H and FCE news

Lone Star 4-H Club met Jan. 11 at the Lone Star Church. At the meeting, Katie Williams was inducted as a new member. Ashley Burgoon was parliamentarian. Aimee Neilsen gave a demonstration and Megan Williams and Will Shultz gave current events.

Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club met Jan. 11. The song was “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” Roll call was answered by your favorite candy. The club discussed the upcoming chili feed at Lecompton United Methodist Church as a fundraiser. Project talks were given by Baylee Wulfkuhle, Madison Wulfkuhle, Ashley Lesser, Rebecca Donaldson, Tristan Damme, Daisy Johnson, Kelsey Wulfkuhle and Alexis Clark.

Kanwaka FCE will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the home of David and Aliene Bieber, 533 Lindley Drive.

Ann Haley will give the lesson, “Old Tyme Games and Activities.”

Douglas County FCE and K-State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Sciences announce the February program “Exercise — We Need to Enhance Strength and Agility.” Presenter will be Pat Middauh, an instructor for the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department. The program will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Dreher Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 843-7058.

The India FCE unit will meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday at the home of Norma Leary, 1059 E. 1479 Road, Lawrence. The lesson will be “A Cup Of Christmas Tea.”
