Lawrence police on Tuesday released an accident report from a Dec. 16 car and bicycle collision in the 1300 block of Kasold Drive.
Police said the accident occurred when the bicyclist, 76-year-old Paul Enos of Lawrence, made an unsafe lane change and failed to see a Toyota Prius, driven by 89-year-old George Berlin, in the inside lane. Berlin couldn’t stop in time, and his car struck Enos, who was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for treatment.

I see, rather I used to see that guy on the bike quite often. He never looks around when changing lanes or turning around. I have had to dodge him a few times.

danger of quiet cars.
cars emit sound, until recently. this sound provides safety information. go to quietcars.nfb.org
wow, maybe 76-year-old dude was not so much at fault as I thought in my comments posted under prior article.
soon quiet cars will be required to produce a certain level of sound.
so it's Prius vs. bicycle then. unless that's downhill, the biker should've been able to outpace the prius it seems.

"so it's Prius vs. bicycle then."
Going Green means going Black and Blue, apparently.
(And, BTW, I was (blue-)green before green was cool.)

I hope Prof Enos is OK. He's a local geology luminary. Those quiet cars need a cowbell.

My car is safest. It has instructions printed on the bumper: "Dodge".
