Kansas officials investigate Hutchinson camper fire that injured two

? Drug officials are helping investigate a Hutchinson camper fire that injured two people, one critically.

Hutchinson Fire Department battalion chief Rod Neufeld says a man was flown to a Wichita hospital burn unit Monday morning after firefighters responded to the blaze. The Hutchinson News reported that a woman who was inside the camper with the critically injured man was treated at a hospital and released.

Det. Jeramy Hedges, who leads the local Drug Enforcement Unit, says a propane tank full of ammonia was found at the scene but “everything else in the camper burned up.” The fire also damaged a nearby SUV and the roof of the adjacent garage.

Hedges says the tank of ammonia is illegal, although officials don’t think it caused the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
