Pittsburg State University students create handicapped-accessible garden

? Gardening is becoming handicapped-accessible in Pittsburg.

Students from Pittsburg State University are designing and building new, raised flower beds at a community garden located behind First Christian Church. The raised beds are easier to reach for many people.

The church’s pastor, the Rev. Kevin Arensman, says about 6,000 pounds of produce was grown at the garden last year

The garden upgrades are part of a class project. The students said they enjoyed leaving something behind and gaining experience.
