Norman, Okla. ? Oklahoma assistants Josh Heupel and Jay Norvell are now co-offensive coordinators for the Sooners.

Coach Bob Stoops announced the promotions Monday. Stoops says Heupel, a 32-year-old former Oklahoma quarterback, will call the plays for the Sooners, starting with their Fiesta Bowl matchup with Connecticut.

Kevin Wilson had been Oklahoma’s offensive coordinator before taking the head coaching job at Indiana. Stoops says Wilson will stay with the Sooners through the bowl game to work with tight ends and fullbacks.
