Espanola, New Mexico ? Jamie Sun Eagle scored 15 points, Sharon Forte added 14 and Sherelle Begay had 13 as Haskell Indian Nations University’s women’s basketball team pulled away late for a 71-62 victory over Northern New Mexico on Saturday.

“It was a good game,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha said. “We were close the whole way and finally caught them with about four minutes to go. It was a good win, a good Christmas present.”

Haskell (4-6) will be idle until the Jan. 7-8 College of the Ozarks Classic in Branson, Mo.
