Lawrence man sentenced to prison in attempted robbery at North Lawrence Sonic

A former Sonic employee on Friday was sentenced to serve nearly four years in prison for attempting to rob the North Lawrence restaurant in January.

Douglas County District Judge Paula Martin ordered Reco Clark, 23, Lawrence to serve 44 months in prison after he pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and aggravated assault on Wednesday.

Martin also ordered Clark’s sentence to run consecutive to the sentence of two years and five months he received earlier this week for an aggravated battery conviction.

In the robbery case, Clark admitted he failed to take money during a Jan. 23 robbery from one Sonic employee and that he used a handgun.

In the aggravated battery case, Clark pleaded guilty to striking another man on June 14 in Lawrence.
