A weekend party at a Lawrence apartment likely didn’t go exactly as planned after a beer keg was stolen.

A 24-year-old Kansas University student reported to Lawrence police Saturday night that someone had stolen the full keg he had placed outside, said Sgt. Matt Sarna, a police spokesman.

It happened between 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. at an apartment in the 4300 block of West 24th Place near Clinton Parkway and Inverness Drive.

Sarna said the man had put the keg outside the apartment to help it cool before a party. He went outside later and discovered the keg was gone.

According to the police report, the keg was valued at $175.

Hahahahaha. They deserve it. It was only going to be a source of underage drinking anyway.

The real question, what kind of keg costs $175?

It was quite a party. thank you , thank you . The senior citizens got trashed and then went dancing at Burger King.. Bus 62 was bouncing up and down and not due to the potholes.

Free beer will bring retired folks to Lawrence for sure.

When is the next party? Even the kegs downtown with a bit in the bottom are worth getting the "last drop" from.

You really should have seen those seniors dance the limbo!

George Diepenbrock,

Could you please explain to your readers why this is a news-worthy story? I am asking this question with the utmost sencerity.

Every day I have to put up with the hordes of blue Jayhawk T-shirt wearing suburbanite clones whose parents pay their rent so they can make mediocre grades in between puking on the sidewalks in front of Brother's next to their brain-dead girlffriends who wear Ugg boots and over-sized sunglasses. Please refrain from legitimizing the "problems" of these people. Also, you've given me another reason for not purchasing a hard copy of your "news" paper.

Let me understand this. A student living in a student ghetto put a full keg outside and thought it would still be there later? How much had this student already personally disposed of? Let me guess, he's not a member of Mensa.

It's really mean for all you people to sit or stand and make fun of someone just because he thought he could trust his neighbors not to steal his private property. What has happened to this town? It used to be the kind of place where everyone just let people's stuff alone and you could leave your car unlocked and your door open on the back porch. Not anymore. I can't even walk outside or down to the store without being afraid of who knows what. Even the west side is becoming frightening. We really need more police patrolling around town on foot like back in the old days.

Lol. This is news? Leave a full keg of beer outside in a college town and you are surprised it got ripped off?? What a dummy.

This is just CYA...he bought it for some minors and then he reports is "stolen"...he pockets the $300 he was paid by them....

I can't believe they even bothered to put this online. So what, a keg got stolen. Kid learned a lesson and won't put beer outside again.
