— Two ceremonies are scheduled next week at Fort Riley for soldiers and officers of the 1st Infantry Division's headquarters returning from Iraq.

The headquarters deployed in January to Basra in southern Iraq as the main headquarters group for the United States Division-South. The 1st Infantry took over responsibilities from the 34th Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard.

It was the 1st Infantry Division's first headquarters deployment since it returned to Fort Riley in 2006.

Specific times and dates for the return to Kansas will be released by the division approximately 24 hours before each ceremony.

"The 1st Infantry took over responsibilities from the 34th Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard."

Sorry, this is not my area of expertise. But that sounds sort of like "the New York Times took over responsibilities from the UDK."
