The American Red Cross hopes to rev up blood donations by offering a chance to win prizes.

Anyone who donates blood at a Red Cross donor center or blood drive is automatically entered to win a $100 gas card. One is given each day until Sept. 15.

Lawrence area residents will get a chance to win during a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at First Christian Church, 1000 Ky.

Donors also will receive a free Red Crossing Racing hat.
