Lawrence man arrested on warrant for aggravated battery, aggravated assault charges

A 24-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Thursday afternoon on a warrant for aggravated battery and aggravated assault stemming from a July 22 incident.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Dan Ward, the man got into an argument with his 39-year-old girlfriend, during which he choked her and threatened her with a knife. Ward said the man left the scene before police could find him. Police arrested him later Thursday in the 1700 block of West 24th Street.
