Power restored to hundreds following brief outage
According to Westar Energy’s website, over 750 customers lost power Wednesday afternoon.
Service was out for about 45 minutes, according to Westar Energy spokesman Leonard Allen. A map on the company’s website showed the outage affecting customers in the downtown Lawrence area.
Allen said the outage was caused by tree branches tangling with power lines. Crews cleared the branches and power was restored just before 3 p.m.
