Shoreline Shuffle 5K: The Lawrence Trail Hawks will host the second Shoreline Shuffle 5k Trail Run, Saturday, Sept. 25, on Clinton Lake’s North Shore Trails. The race begins and ends at Shelter 4, Campground One, in Clinton Lake State Park.

The marked course includes difficult rocky, root-bound trails; smooth, flat, easy trails; scenic lake views; and long shady stretches through old-growth forest.

The race begins at 8 a.m., with race-day registration and check-in starting at 7 a.m. The race entry form and online registration are both available at www.lawrencetrailhawks.com. Henrickson Tourney: The sixth-annual Bonnie Henrickson Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 21 at Alvamar Golf and Country Club. The four-person scramble tees off at 1 p.m. The $100 entry fee includes green fee, cart, range balls, goodie bag, drinks, lunch and dinner. Competitive Softball Tryouts: Lawrence and Free State high coaches are putting together competitive softball teams for 13- to 16-year-old girls (16U and 14U divisions) for next summer. Jayhawk Golf Club Results: Mike Hertling shot a 132 to win the net portion of the Jayhawk Golf Club Stroke Play Championship on Saturday and Sunday at Alvamar Public and Alvamar Country Club.

Mike Farve was second with 135, Ed Sholtes third with 138, William Patt fourth with 145 and Bob Kocour fifth with 148.

Conrad Roberts won the scratch portion with 148. William Gantz took second with 154, Bud Stagg third with 157, Chris Anderson fourth with 158, and Van Reichert fifth with 165.

Rockers Tryouts: The 14U Lawrence Rockers softball team is looking for a few more players for a first-year team for possible fall tournaments and next season. Lawrence Residents Compete in Transplant Games: Team Mo-Kan members brought home 26 medals from the National Kidney Foundation U.S. Transplant Games in Madison, Wis.

Scott Hedges of Lawrence advanced to bracket play in table tennis.

Ali Jacobsen of Lawrence brought home a gold in table tennis and a silver in the shot put in track and field. She also placed eighth in the 5K Road Race and went 1-1 with the volleyball team.

Keith Kopf of Lawrence took fourth in the shot put.

Mike Strauss of Lawrence brought home gold in the golf event. He also participated in the team golf event, was 2-1 in table tennis pool play and went 1-1 with the basketball team.

Wynne a Winner: Wynne Mihura of Lawrence took first place in the champion class of the Ottawa Horseshoe Tournament on Aug. 1.

Bearse Ace: Bob Bearse recorded a hole-in-one on No. 2 at Lawrence Country Club during the club championship on Aug. 7. Witnesses were Bill Brooks, Bill Benso and Joe Scales.

Shenoy Ace: Cathe Shenoy recorded a hole-in-one on No. 17 at Lawrence Country Club. Witnesses were Sidney Garrett and Bobbette Puderbaugh.
