Ex-rival Ensley endorses Kobach in Kansas secretary of state race

— Republican Kris Kobach has picked up the endorsement of a former GOP rival in the Kansas secretary of state's race.

Shawnee County Election Commissioner Elizabeth Ensley announced Tuesday that she's supporting Kobach, a University of Missouri-Kansas City law professor.

Kobach defeated Ensley and Salina resident J.R. Claeys (klayz) in last week's Republican primary. Claeys, a former executive of a national business group, has also endorsed Kobach.

Kobach faces Democratic Secretary of State Chris Biggs in the November general election.

Biggs spokeswoman Abbie Hodgson says Ensley's endorsement of Kobach is purely political, noting Ensley sharply criticized him up until the election.

Kobach is known for his work on immigration issues, including helping to draft a new Arizona law.

What a sell out. Portray yourself as a moderate and then endorse hate. You Ms. Ensley are worse than Kobach. Sorry to all my friends who I told to support this fraud.

Perhaps it's her knowledge that Biggs is nothing more than Anthony Hensley's toadie that causes her to prefer to see Kobach as Kansas Secretary of State. Chris Steineger would have been a much better choice for Kansans than Biggs, and Steineger could have beaten Kobach.

I look forward to a serious open debate about illegal immigration in Kansas. I and especially interested to hear our appointed and elected politicians defend the fact that they are spending an additional 275 million dollars annually to keep illegals in our schools at a time when our politicians have raised taxes for for more money to schools. I want to discuss the fact that illegals contribute to 50% of all violent crimes in the state of Kansas causing massive short falls in ability to budget for the prison system. Spend a week at our health departments across the state of Kansas. Lets discuss the millions of dollars Kansas spends on illegals who are using our social services while legal Kansans pick up the tab and are being told their services are being cut because of budget short falls. I look forward to the day when Kansans have to provide a legal form of documentation that demonstrates your legal status before you vote. I will gladly spend the few minutes for myself to make sure that I comply with this rule. I look forward to forcing business in Kansas to confirm the legal status of all workers in our state. I look forward to a day where Kansas says to all illegals; You are not welcome unless you are legal. This isn't mean or racist. When we stop illegal immigration and when we close our borders we can then discuss a new immigration policy that allows for a well documented immigration process. Thank you Mr. Kobach for forcing this debate.

Kobach is much more qualified and unbiased then Mr. Biggs. Remember the $200,000 Tiller donation. His special interest is late-term abortionists and he's apparently just fine with unborn children in seventh, eighth, and ninth month of pregancy being killed for just about any reason--or no reason at all--let's elect Kobach!

So Ensley would rather surrender the state to the fascists than stand up for what she knows is right. Ensley has now demonstrated that she was no better than Kobach. Is there a Kansas Republican politician who still has a moral center?
