Haysville pool reopens after chlorine scare

? A public swimming pool near Wichita where high levels of chlorine made several children sick has reopened.

City leaders in Haysville blamed Tuesday evening’s problem on a combination of extreme heat, humidity, water temperatures and back-washing of the water. Officials told KAKE-TV that high levels of chlorine were automatically injected into the pool at a time when it wasn’t supposed to happen.

Fourteen children were treated for breathing and stomach problems Tuesday night. All were reported to have recovered Wednesday, when the pool reopened.
