Two women were reportedly victims of sexual assault late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
According to a media release from Lawrence Police Capt. Mike Pattrick, a 20-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted in an apartment in the southwest portion of the city by an acquaintance.
An 18-year-old woman reported being attacked in a south central Lawrence parking lot by an unidentified white man.
Both incidents are still currently under investigation.
No further information was available Sunday morning.

This increase in violent crime in Lawrence has coincided with the emergence of the tea party. Why are tea-partiers so violent? Why can't they clean up their act? I guess violence is in their nature.

There is no tea party in Lawrence that I know of. Put the blame on drugs and those that use them.

Guardian - I think yourworstnightmare is pointing out the tendency for Tea-Baggers to link things together with very loose, straw-man style arguments.
"Correlation does not equal causation." Either way, it's in somewhat bad taste, though I do agree that the tea-baggers are often a little out there, this is not the forum.

Tom: You're probably correct about some of the perp types; but I'd bet that a good portion are bible thumping, sexually repressed individuals who have never learned how to maturely function in a liberated society. As evidence: Vitter, Sanford, Craig, Haggart etc., etc.

You joke about violent crime, what next? smiley faces with blood dripping down to show a murder of a child? Oh wait, that is a vampire television show or movie. Does no one really care about the violence that is on the increase in the city? Do you joke because violence doesn't affect you? If it affects one of us, it affects all of us. Most of the city gets in an uproar if KU loses a game. where is the uproar now? Will it be when parents and alumi start to stay at home and watch the games on tv because they don't want to get attacked in the street?

Could we get any more details on this? Like what times the attacks happened? Where was the parking lot? South Central Lawrence doesn't narrow it down much. Could this one possibly be related to the Mass Street one a few days ago?
