Shockers hammer Kansas baseball

? Wichita State used two nine-run innings to hand Kansas University’s baseball team its second straight lopsided loss — 22-7 on Tuesday at Eck Stadium.

On Sunday, the Jayhawks (25-17-1 overall) suffered a 21-10 loss to visiting Texas Tech.

It’s the first time KU has given up 20-plus runs in back-to-back games since the 1985 season.

The 22 runs scored by Wichita State (26-15) were the most by a Jayhawk opponent since 2002, while the 15-run margin of victory was the most since the Shockers beat KU, 18-3, in 2007.

The Kansas bullpen, which struggled Sunday against Texas Tech, surrendered nine runs in the bottom of the fourth on just four base hits. KU walked five in the inning and hit two batters.

The Jayhawks will travel to Stillwater, Okla., this weekend.
